The Middle East is a region where car is king and fuel is cheap, frequently leaving little reward to find more environmentally-friendly ways of walking around.
But this year, as protests throughout the Middle East have actually risen the cost of oil, the problem of finding alternative sources of fuel has entered into sharp focus.
In a region that has one of the highest carbon footprints worldwide, one organization is making the most of the to discover options to oil. It's established the Middle East's first scheme to recycle cooking oil into biodiesel. It's showing successful too, currently their client-list consists of McDonald's.
